The clinical team have vast experience of clients requiring respiratory support. The clinical management team consists of a clinical operations manager who is supported by a clinical nurse manager and an experienced clinical training facilitator.Together, they ensure safe, compassionate, and expertly delivered complex care, providing practical, emotional, and social support for clients and families.

Cecily Hughes
Managing Director
Cecily Hughes opened Kare Plus Waterford and South Tipperary in Clonmel in June 2021. Under her leadership, the company is expanding to Kildare in August 2024. With extensive experience in both public and private healthcare, Cecily identified a crucial need for quality home care, particularly highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her team provides exceptional care across Waterford and South Tipperary, with plans to develop a dedicated Home care Team for Kildare. Kare Plus is an approved provider to the HSE and Tusla, offering excellent hourly rates and free training, including MAPPA, SAMS, and Patient Moving and Handling courses. The company also runs a QQI Level 5 Healthcare Course. Cecily emphasises that caring for staff is essential to providing the best care to clients, ensuring continuous skill development through training facilities in Clonmel and the new Kildare office.
Majella Brawders
General Manager / RGN
Majella Brawders joined Kare Plus in 2025, bringing over two decades of extensive nursing and leadership experience. Majella qualified as a nurse in the UK in 2000 and spent 17 years working in acute care settings across both the UK and Ireland, with a strong focus on intensive care.
Majella’s career has progressed from Staff Nurse to Assistant Director of Nursing at Tipperary University Hospital. Over the past eight years, Majella has held senior nursing management roles across acute, residential, and community care settings. Majella’s experience includes developing complex home care services as a Clinical Lead Nurse, serving as Assistant Director of Nursing in a residential setting, and leading a community-based HSE project supporting clients to live independently at home.
Majella holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Leadership from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, graduating with first-class honours in 2021. Majella is passionate about education, continuous professional development, and delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
Sarah Cummins
Care Manager / RGN / Designated Safeguarding Officer
With 20 years of experience in healthcare and nursing across Ireland and Australia, Sarah offers extensive knowledge and a practical, compassionate approach to her role. Her background spans acute care, gerontology, rehabilitation, and community settings, providing her with a well-rounded understanding of diverse client needs.
Specialising in gerontology, advanced home care, and supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries, Sarah is committed to helping clients live independently and with dignity in their own homes. She strongly believes that patient-centred care is vital—by actively listening to each client’s wishes and values, she ensures that a client’s care plan is personalised, respectful, and aligned with what matters most to the individual. Sarah works closely with clients, families, and healthcare teams to create effective, customised care solutions that promote long-term well-being.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Sarah is a qualified practitioner in coaching with neuroscience and holds a diploma in this field. She incorporates neuroscience-based coaching techniques with traditional nursing care practices to support both physical care & recovery, as well as mental resilience.
Rebecca Desmond
Home Care Scheduler & Administrator
Rebecca joined Kare Plus in 2025 as a Home care Scheduler and Administrator, bringing with her over two years of experience in medical administration. She specialises in managing caregiver schedules, coordinating client care, and ensuring the smooth operation of services behind the scenes. With a strong organisational skillset and a focus on efficiency, Rebecca plays a key role in maintaining high standards across our care delivery.
Passionate about making a positive impact, Rebecca takes great pride in helping families access the support they need for their loved ones. Her role allows her to combine compassion with precision, supporting both carers and clients by keeping processes streamlined and responsive. She is dedicated to contributing to a caring environment where quality and reliability are at the heart of everything we do.
Abi Mckell
Scheduler / Administrator
Abi began a career in healthcare three years ago as a Healthcare Assistant, gaining valuable experience in both nursing homes and private homecare settings. These early roles helped Abi build a strong foundation in patient care and develop a deep understanding of the needs of clients and their families.
In 2024, Abi joined Kare Plus, where continued professional growth led to increasing levels of responsibility. Through dedication and a genuine passion for supporting both clients and staff, Abi progressed to the current role of Agency Scheduler. In this position, Abi coordinates care delivery and ensures that staffing operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to high-quality service and client satisfaction.
Sally Butler
HR Administrator
Sally joined Kare Plus in 2026 as an HR and Recruitment Administrator, bringing with her over three years of experience gained while living and working in London. She specialises in recruiting and onboarding staff, maintaining up-to-date compliance across the workforce, and coordinating training to ensure staff skills and knowledge remain current. With a strong organisational skillset and a keen eye for detail, Sally plays a key role in supporting smooth HR operations and maintaining high professional standards. Her position allows her to combine structure with approachability, providing guidance on HR queries while helping to create a compliant, well-trained, and motivated team.
